In recent speeches given to Unification Church members by Sun Myung Moon, and recorded in Today's World, a magazine published by the Unification Church for Unification Church members, Rev. Moon has proclaimed:

"Am I foolish and insignificant or am I great? I gave all the individuals in the world cause to kneel down in front of me." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, March 1995 p.6)

"I served the famous professors and scholars, and eventually they learned that the Reverend Moon is superior to them.... Even Nobel laureate academics who thought they were at the center of knowledge are as nothing in front of me." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, April 1995 p.6)

"After being released from Danbury prison, I prevailed over the U.S. Congress within seven years. Do you understand? I prevailed over the United Nations General Assembly in seven years." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, March 1995, pp. 6-7)

"Any politician who wants to run for president will come to me in a few years." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, Nov/Dec 1994, p. 19)

"When you bow to True Parents' picture and display the Unification Church flag, Satan will have to go far away from your home." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, January 1995 p.14)

In the early days of the Unification Church in America, in private lectures for Unification Church members entitled: "Master Speaks", Rev. Moon taught his followers: "But if you stand on the Principle, then the Lord of the Universe, whom we call in our movement the True Father or True Parent, will appear to you and guide you." (Rev. Moon, Master Speaks-3, "Prayer and the Spirit World," 1965, p.5) Remember "True Father", "True Parent", "Lord of the Second Advent", etc., are all titles Moon claims for himself. So we see from the above statement that he also claims to be "the Lord of the Universe!"

Rev. Moon also teaches that he is supposed to be the absolute ruler of the world. He has talked many times about wanting to take over America politically.

"The whole world is in my hand, and I will conquer and subjugate the world." (Sun Myung Moon, Master Speaks, 5/17/73)

"Let's say there are 500 sons and daughters like you in each state. Then we could control the government. ... The time will come, without my seeking it, that my words will almost serve as law. If I ask a certain thing, it will be done. If I don't want something, it will not be done." (Sun Myung Moon, Master Speaks 3/24/74)

"So from this time of peak every people or every organization that goes against the Unification Church will gradually come down or drastically come down and die. Many people will die -- those who go against our movement." (Sun Myung Moon, Master Speaks 2/14/74)

"The true sovereign is not the American president nor the English king, but the Lord of the Second Advent." (Rev. Moon, "Returning to the Home Country," Unification News, November, 1993, p.3)

SOME UNIFICATION CHURCH TEACHINGS

Sun Myung Moon claims to be sinless, he claims to have more wisdom than Jesus, and he has often said that he is greater than Jesus. Rev. Moon has taught, "Abraham was the father of faith, Moses was a man of faith, Jesus was the son of man, trying to carry out his mission at the cost of his life. But they are, in a way, failures." (Sun Myung Moon, "Victory or Defeat," from Master Speaks, March 31, 1973, p.1.) He also teaches: "This means that the failures of Adam and of Jesus Christ have been restored by the appearance of True Parents." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, January, 1995, p.8)

From pp. 61-66 of this Unification Church book, a message is recorded which the Unification Church purports to be a message from Jesus. On pp. 65-66 the supposed spirit of Jesus is recorded as saying:

"Bring in the flocks. Bring in the sheep and bring them to the throne of your True Parents. Bring them to the throne of our True Parents, the mighty throne of heaven. And I will place the Crown of Glory on our True Parents' head. I will lead them. I will show them that the Lord of Lords and the Kings of Kings and the King of Glory is our precious Lord Sun Myung Moon and his beloved bride Hak Ja Han. They reign as king and queen of the entire universe. And that I, Jesus of Nazareth, known as the Christ, bow in humility before them. I bow before them. Any who will follow me must do the same. I bow before the name of True Parents. I bow before our precious Lords, our True Parents, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han." (Purportedly by the spirit of Heung Jin Nim Moon, The Victory of Love, NY, NY: The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, 1992, pp. 65-66).

This is total abomination and totally against the teaching of the Bible (Phil. 2:8-11, Eph. 1:21, I Tim. 4:1)!!!

SUN MYUNG MOON - THE CHAMPION OF RACIAL EQUALITY?

Steve Hassan, a former Unification Church leader, is today considered one of America's leading experts in counseling people who have been involved in cults. His book, Combatting Cult Mind Control is highly acclaimed by both mental health professionals and clergy as an authoritative work on the subject. Mr. Hassan is highly respected for his work in educating the public about the use of deception, mind control and other techniques used by cults. On the internet is an article by this former Unification Church member entitled, "The Truth About Sun Myung Moon." On p.10 of this article it says:

"A prominent rabbi wrote an analysis paper of the Divine Principle in the late 1970's for The American Jewish Committee and found dozens of anti-Semitic references throughout the book...Moon believes that in the "ideal world" all languages will be abolished except Korean. He believes that the Korean race is "superior" and that `Orientals' are more spiritual than Caucasians or Blacks. Although Moon's rhetoric is against racism, his words and actions seem very racist. I was present for his "Blacks are more talented in the physical aspect" talk and I remember at that time looking into the eyes of a black woman. We shrugged our shoulders and felt that if Moon was saying it, then it must be true. Here is an excerpt from that speech: `Father thinks about the three races; yellow, black, and white. Orientals can contribute in the spiritual aspect, white people can contribute in the analytic scientific area, while black people can contribute in the physical area.(Sun Myung Moon, Master Speaks, 7/29/74)

IS THE UNIFICATION CHURCH REALLY SEEKING TO UNITE CHRISTIANITY?

"Until our mission with the Christian Church is over, we must quote the Bible and use it to explain the Divine Principle. After we receive the inheritance of the Christian Church, we will be free to teach without the Bible. Now, however, our primary mission is to witness to the Christian Church." (Sun Myung Moon, Master Speaks:7, 1965, p.1)

"The time has come when the whole world must be concerned about me. From now on, American Christianity must follow me." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, Nov. 93, p.5)

Rev. Moon has recently taught his followers:

"...I know the established Christian theology....I know the enemy, but the enemy doesn't know me. Thus the enemy has already lost the war..." (Rev. Moon, Today's World, Feb 95, p. 14)
